Middle Eastern Dance and Drum
I've always loved to dance, and since 1992, traditional Middle-Eastern dance, or "belly dance" has been the form that I find lets me express myself best. My style is mostly Egyptian based with some fusion elements. I only do improvisation- no tribal style, and no memorizing tedious choreography. I want my students to know and understand the music and be able to boogie- even if only in private.
I originally learned organically- by watching others and copying their moves until I found ways that fit my body. Since then, I have refined my style by taking classes from several national and internationally known teachers. I have been teaching both private and group classes and workshops since 1994.
I am currently looking for another space to hold classes in. It needs to be within half an hour of Meriden, CT. If anyone has suggestions, please get in contact with me! More news will be posted as it happens.
